The Swainsboro City Council began its January 9th meeting with what has become a tradition, as Councilman Johnny Ray Stafford presented the OurTown Hero Award to Mr. Donald Jenkins.

SOUL Fest: Celebrating African American Culture Slated for March 3rd

Preparations are in place for the inaugural SOUL Fest: Celebrating African American Culture on March 3, 2012. Activities will run from 12:00 Noon until 10:00 p.m. in downtown Swainsboro. The event is intended to honor, educate, and commemorate the many contributions that African Americans have made to America and Emanuel County.
